Gera Cup is a weekly Russian cup with about one hundred $ for the winner usually. This week is the hundredth Cup. The prize pool is about 6,500 $ thanks to a crowd funding. The competition is over two day, with only 16 players but a double elimination bracket. The tournament is hosted by GoodGame.ru, and played on the W3A-servers.
The russian player Happy won the cup beating FoCuS in final. He won for the 13th time, becoming by far the player with the biggest earnings in Gera Cups.

Format[edit]

Qualifier[edit]

  • 8 Players are invited
  • 8 Players qualify through Gera Cup 96-99

Playoffs[edit]

  • 16 players in a double elimination bracket,
  • all matches are best of 3 except :
    • winners' semifinal & final, and losers' final are best of 5,
    • grand final is Bo7 (WB champion leads 1 : 0).

Crowd Funding[edit]

Gera sponsorts call for a crowd funding, prizepool will at least be $3,400 but :

  • If the community does reach the donation goal, Gera will sponsor two more years of Gera Cups,
  • If the community doesn't reach the donation goal, Gera will come up for it but it will be the last Gera Cup.
