Nick "Silky" McNeese is a North American Zerg player who is currently playing for PSISTORM Gaming.

Biography[edit]

Nick is a Top Grandmaster player from Southern California. He is Grandmaster on the Korean Server, as well as consistently in the top 10 in North America, while being in high school. He will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall and continue to play Starcraft 2.

Wings of Liberty[edit]

Silky picked up StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty after retiring from competitive Halo play in mid 2011. For his first RTS game, Silky rose up the ladder and achieved Masters League within 8 months of playing the game. He won 2 Local SoCal LANs that year as well as participating in MLG Anaheim 2011 where he faced Siphonn (a later to be teammate) and lost 0-2.

A year later, he participated in MLG Anaheim 2012 where he lost to State 0-2 in the winners bracket and then losing to Goswser 1-2 in the losers bracket.

Heart of the Swarm[edit]

In June 2013, Silky participated in MLG Anaheim 2013, where he was eliminated in Losers Round 2.

In August of 2013, Silky was welcomed onto Clarity Gaming's Academy.

On September 25, 2013, Clarity Gaming announced the reform and merge of their academy and professional roster. Silky was a part of this change.[1]

In December 13, 2013, Silky won the Zowie NA Open Cup #2.

On December 15, 2013, Silky participated in the IEM San Paulo American Qualifier and was one round from moving on to the second stage. He beat players such as Days 2-0, Astrea 2-0, and JonSnow 2-1 before losing to desRow 0-2.

On January 19, 2014, Silky wins the UCSD Winter GameFest 2014 over teammate PaperBoat.

In May 2014, Silky joined Solaris Gaming and participated in many clan wars winning many games against top players.[who?]

Silky competed in MLG Anaheim 2014. After initially losing to Intense 1-2, he went on to beat Serenity 2-0 and ThisIsJimmy 2-0 and then eventually fell to AiuR 1-2.
