About Razer King of the Beta[edit]

One of the StarCraft community's best known casters, Sean "Day[9]" Plott, hosted this tournament. Because of the caliber of players in the tournament, it was a great end to the beta-phase of StarCraft II. As a widely known commentator Sean announced his decision to host a launch party in Los Angeles, California, on the 26th of July. While the casting of the tournament finals will be done by people at the venue, the finals itself looks like it will be played online.

For Day[9]'s StarCraft II Countdown party on July 26th, I'm hosting the King of the Beta tournament to declare one top player as the champion of the beta.

In the second cast, it was revealed that Razer was sponsoring the event. With a total prize pool of $3000 USD, it had the second highest prize pool for any foreigner tournament during the beta, after the HDH Invitational.

Casting[edit]

This event was casted by Day[9] and JP McDaniel. djWHEAT was supposed cast the finals but was unable to make it, he ended up talking a little in between some of the games via webcam and skype.
