Park "Pet" Nam-kyu (born October 22, 1995) is a retired Korean Zerg player who last played for Team RevolutioN.

Wings Of Liberty[edit]

In GSL October Preliminaries, Pet was eliminated by PartinG in the Ro 16.

Pet has taken part in KSL events. During the round robin, Pet maintained a positive record despite often being matched against better-known players, going 5-2 in ZvT with macro wins over aLive and Maru, among others.

He also played for ZeNEX in the IGN Proleague Team Arena Challenge 2 Qualifiers.

He was the surprise winner of the Nitrix Energy Championship, managing to defeat Polt in the quarterfinals and his teammate TREME in the final.[1]

Pet followed most of the ZeNEX roster into their absorption by StarTale.

World Championship Series[edit]

2012 WCS Korea Preliminaries[edit]

On July 22, 2012, Pet participated in the 2012 South Korea WCS Preliminaries. Pet received a BYE in round one and then took down Jjun, FanTaSy, Lure, and faced Creator in the finals. He was not able to advance any further as he lost to Creator by a score of 0:2 and took 2nd place.

Heart of the Swarm[edit]

2015[edit]

Pet took part in qualifiers for both Global StarCraft II League and StarCraft II StarLeague. In GSL Season 1, he lost to MMA (1:2) and was eliminated by Apocalypse (1:2) in Losers' Bracket. In SSL Season 1, he defeated YoDa (2:1) but fell to HerO (0:2). He achieved a better result in GSL Season 2, where after defeating Action (2:1) and losing to Ryung (1:2), he beat KeeN (2:0) and reached the final of the Losers' Bracket. Unfortunately, Pet then lost to Ryung again, this time with a 0:2 score. That situation repeated itself in GSL Season 3, where again he reached the final of the Losers' Bracket and lost to the same player again. This time, that opponent was Cure. In SSL Season 2, Pet beat Solar (2:0), then lost to Seed (1:2). In SSL Season 3, he was eliminated early in the Ro16, losing to Panic (1:2).

Pet was also invited to the 4Gamers StarCraft II Tournament, where he defeated 閉嘴白痴 and Cell but then lost to HyuN, and was eliminated from the Ro8. That result earned him 100 WCS points.

Proleague[edit]

Pet was listed in the roster of the team partnership StarTale-yoe for 2015 Proleague. He played in four matches, defeating HerO in Round 1, then beating Bbyong and losing to Cure and MyuNgSiK in Round 2. In Round 3, StarTale changed name to SBENU, and since then Pet had not appeared in the lineup. Later, he was removed from the roster for Round 4 with no official explanation. In September, 2015, it was confirmed that Pet had left SBENU.[2]

Legacy of the Void[edit]

Coming back to progaming (March 2016 - September 2016)[edit]

After his last match in Heart of the Swarm, Pet took several months long break from competing, as later turned out, due to stress. He reappeared in March 2016 as it was announced that he joined team MVP[3] and was listed on their roster for 2016 Proleague Round 2. Despite being fielded in the lineup, he didn't get to play any games that round. However, he played in 2 matches in Round 3 losing both to Solar and Stats.

In May, 2016, Pet qualified for 2016 GSL Season 2 defeating chaos and KeeN, then losing to sOs and beating KeeN again. In Code A he faced HerO and was defeated 3-2 in a close series.

In September, 2016, Pet earned a spot in the 2016 KeSPA Cup. In the Qualifier he defeated RagnaroK, DRGLing, as well as recent 2016 SSL Season 2 finalist Dark. In Ro16 he was placed in Group B where he first defeated herO 2-1, then lost to TY 0-2 in the Winners' Match and eventually won against TRUE 2-1 advancing to Ro8 on second place. In the Quarterfinals Pet faced Neeb and despite almost making a comeback, he was defeated 2-3 ending his run on 5th-8th place.

Living without team (October 2016 - January 2017)[edit]

After the news of Proleague being discontinued, most of the Korean teams disbanded their StarCraft II rosters.[4] The situation of team MVP was unclear as they stated that they are considering continuing StarCraft II support but it was known that all players, including Pet, moved out of the teamhouse. At the end of November 2016, Pet started streaming on Twitch with both Korean and English commentary.

On December 3, 2016, Pet played in the Crafterino Open #1. He advanced to the final over Bly but than lost to Snute 1-3, taking second place in the tournament.

Pet continued regular streams and in the middle of December, 2016, became a Twitch Partner. He also appeared on the Dank Shrine podcast on December 23, giving an interview for the first time fully in English.

On December 27, 2016, Pet took part in the 2017 GSL Season 1 Qualifier. In his first match he lost to Trap, than in the lower bracket he defeated Rookie to face Trap in a rematch but once again the Protoss was victorious, eliminating Pet from the tournament.

Joining a foreign team (February 2017 - present)[edit]

On February 8, 2017, it was announced that Pet joined Team RevolutioN.[5]
