Artur "Nerchio" Bloch is a StarCraft player from Poland. He currently plays Zerg for Team Acer.
 Wings of Liberty
 The Online Monster (2010-2011)
At release, Nerchio joined a casual team named Universal Soldiers, and quickly made his name by competing in lots of weekly cups. He decided to step up to a professional team, and joined against All authority in December 2010. Since this time, he has won an impressive amount of weekly cups, in spite of his three month ban from ESL for aliasing. Due to his bachelor's exams, Nerchio did not participate in offline events until the summer 2011. Towards the end of 2010 Nerchio switched to playing Random and became the highest rated Random player on Ladder. On February 2011 he switched back to Zerg, but still retains the skill of playing with all three races at a high level. Playing Zerg he managed to secure first place in Grandmaster League on EU server for Season 6 just ahead of TitaN and Kas. In March 2011, motivated by the fact that his only contact with the team, the manager Kaoru, had left, Nerchio decided to leave aAa and joined Team Empire a few days later. On the 19th July 2011, Nerchio rejoined his former coach Kaoru in the newly-created Team Acer, alongside his friend and 2v2 partner Osho. The next day, he won Go4SC2 #120 in a dominating fashion, showing his mastery in the three races of the game by playing Random in final against VERDI. In the first game, he spawned as Protoss, and Mothership-rushed his opponent. In the second game, he spawned as Zerg, and went mass burrowed Infestors. In the third and last game, he spawned as Terran, and went mass nuke in order to win the final 3-0.
In the summer of 2011, Nerchio competed for the first time in premier events. In July, he reached the final of the second qualifier of IEM Season VI - Global Challenge Cologne, after defeating the reigning IEM European Champion, SjoW, therefore qualifying for the main tournament. One month later, he was recognized by Blizzard as one of the eight best players in the European region, and was invited to 2011 European Battle.net Invitational. The invitational, hosted in his native Poland, marked Nerchio's first participation in an offline event. He was knocked out of the winner's bracket by Socke in the first round and then managed to eliminate White-Ra in the first round of the losers' bracket. He was finally eliminated one round later by NaNiwa, the eventual runner-up of the tournament. Meanwhile, Nerchio was competing in IGN ProLeague Season 2, where he was knocked into the lower bracket by ClouD in the first round. However, Nerchio made his way through the lower bracket at the expense of KiWiKaKi, Minigun, ViBE, GoOdy, Ret, IdrA, ThorZaIN, and MaNa to reach the grand finals. He was defeated by White-Ra 3-1 to take second place. On August 9, 2011, Nerchio participated in the ZOTAC Cup Monthly Final July. Nerchio took down GoOdy, sYz, Rain, and 3-1ed Tarson in the finals to take first place. Later the same month, Nerchio made his second appearance in a premier offline event during IEM Season VI - Global Challenge Cologne. He took the first place of his group in a dominating fashion, defeating Tarson, mOOnGLaDe, and HuK without losing a single game. However, his run was ended in the quarterfinals by the eventual winner of the event, PuMa. On September 2011, Nerchio participated in the ZOTAC Cup Monthly Final August, in order to defend his July title. But this time, Nerchio only took third place in this one. Nerchio took down HwangSin and Happy before he fell to the 3rd/4th place match by losing to Spanish Terran LucifroN. Nerchio took 3rd place after he took down roof by a score of 2-0.
First offline tournaments (Fall 2011 – Summer 2012)
In October, Nerchio won the Polish qualifiers for World Cyber Games 2011, therefore earning the spot in the main event in Busan. However, he later discarded his WCG seed because of his studies, and was replaced by SLiDeR.
On October, Nerchio also participated in the ZOTAC Cup Monthly Final September, his third monthly finals in a row. Nerchio also took a 3rd place finish in this one as well. He started off well as he took down DeViL and dde, but then he fell to the 3rd/4th place match after he lost to roof. Nerchio however was able to save himself from a 4th place finish when he took down GoOdy by a score of 2-0.
At the end of the month, he entered ESWC 2011 as one of the Polish representative, the other one being MaNa. He cleaned his group pretty easily with a 10-2 record, but then fell to the Warcraft III legend Grubby in the round of 16.
One month later, Nerchio competed in the Battle in Berlin invitational tournament, where he flawlessly defeated Socke, Ret, and GoOdy in order to claim the first place, his first ever victory in a major offline event. Socke was the only one who took a game off him in his commanding run.
In November, he also participated in DreamHack Winter 2011, he went through the two groupstage with relative ease, only losing 2 maps in 6 matches, managed to defeat his fellow MaNa in the round of 16, but then was eliminated by the Dutch Zerg Ret in the quarterfinals. Nerchio participated in the ZOTAC Cup Monthly Final October. Nerchio was able to redeem himself from his past two third place finishes. Nerchio successfully took down DieStar, HwangSin, Happy, and then faced Beastyqt in the finals. After defeating him with a score of 3-0, Nerchio grabbed first place. In January 2012, Nerchio attended HomeStory Cup IV, where he was showed an impressive level in group play. He indeed took the first place in both his first and second groups, notable winning against ThorZaIN, viOLet, and HerO. However, just like during the IEM Season VI - Global Challenge Cologne, in spite of an commanding run in group play, he was swept in quarterfinals by a South Korean progamer, this time being MC. Nerchio was also invited to play in the IPL Fight Club showmatch series, where he defeated MaNa but lost to the reigning GSL champion jjakji in the following week.
His good performance in the HomeStory Cup, combined to his round of 8 placements in the IEM Cologne was enough to grant him a spot for the IEM Season VI - World Championship. He was seeded in a Protoss heavy group, went 3-2 in matches, the same score than all top four players of the group, but a weaker map score and the defeated against HasuObs placed him fourth and thus he was eliminated. In April 2012, he went to Sweden to play the 2012 DreamHack Open Stockholm. In a similar way with the previous DreamHack, he made his way through the groupstage, but was eliminated by a Zerg in the round of 8, this time the Korean player Monster. In May 12, 2012, he won the 2012 StarCraft II World Championship Series Nationals Poland defeating MaNa and becoming Polish representative for European Championship alongside his final opponent. This win gave him also title of Polish StarCraft II Champion. In the middle of June, he played in his third DreamHack event, the 2012 DreamHack Open Summer, which went exactly the same way as the two others, a defeat in the round of 8 against a Zerg, this time in rival for the title of best European Zerg, Stephano.
Summer of Success (Summer 2012 – Fall 2012)
Although Nerchio would continue to place in online qualifiers and minor tournaments, his big impact on the scene was during the Summer. During HomeStory Cup V, advancing first in his group dropping only 2 games, one to Naama and one to Socke, advancing to the Ro16 where Nerchio would only drop a map to YongHwa and advance again from first place. Continuing his rampage, Nerchio defeated HasuObs 3-0 and MC 3-1 in the Quarterfinals and in the semifinals respectively. In the finals, Nerchio would have a clean up 4-1 win over YongHwa and be crowned as champion of the HomeStory Cup. Nerchio only dropped 5 maps throughout the whole tournament.
In August he played in IEM Season VII - Cologne, where he advanced from first place in his group despite a heavy Korean presence. He then once again swept MC in the quarterfinals and showed his strong ZvZ with a victory against viOlet in the semifinals, but was unable to defeat the four time GSL champion Mvp, finishing second and earning $3,300.
On 15 September, Nerchio joined the top European players at 2012 WCS Europe Championship. After a first round loss to SortOf, he fought his way through loser's bracket by beating Noticimus, home favorite ThorZaIN, DeMusliM, Bly and finally falling to Grubby in a very close series. At this point Nerchio was tied for 7th/8th place with Happy. However - because out of 6 spots available at WCS Europe to top players for WCS World Championship only 5 were needed for the top 6 players (as Stephano already secured a spot on virtue of being WCS France champion), Nerchio played a consolation match for 7th place and a WCS World Championship spot. Nerchio won the Bo3 against his Russian opponent 2-0. In September, he also played his first HotS tournament, the NVIDIA SC2 HotS Cup, where he already showed a great mastery of the game, winning the tournament 4 to 1 against ForGG in the finals. The following month, he played in the 2012 DreamHack Open Bucharest, but this time he wasn’t betrayed by his ZvZ in the round of 8, being able to defeat TLO (he had previously won with ease his first group, took second place in his second group and defeated Giantt in the round of 16). He then met StarNaN in the semifinals, and was able to beat him, joining his teammate Bly in the finals. He destroyed him 3 to nothing with stellar ZvZ play, and was crowned DreamHack champion.
All this time, he continued to dominate online events, winning one Go4SC2 and 5 ZOTAC weekly cups within just two months. On November 17, 2012, Nerchio took part in the group stage of the World Championship finals. There he defeated mOOnGLaDe and lost to Creator, setting himself up for a final match with team mate Scarlett. He lost 2 to 0 and was eliminated. He also played in IPL 5, having secured a spot through the European Satellite. Unfortunately, his run was short ended with loss against LeiYa in the first round and NaNiWa in the loser’s bracket. But there was more to play in November, as he entered 2012 DreamHack Winter, he placed second in his group with a single loss to monchi, and had to play against his Polish rival MaNa in the round of 8. He swept him 3 to 0, but then lost to the Korean Terran TaeJa with the same score, finishing with a semifinalist placement. In January 2013, he participated in the first IEM in his homeland, IEM Season VII - Katowice, this time he finished third in his group before losing to Daisy in the round of twelve.
 Heart of the Swarm
His first premier event in the expansion was IEM Season VII - World Championship where he made a similar run to Katowice - third in his group, followed by a loss in the round of twelve, this time against MaNa, his first loss in months against him.
Nerchio was one of the 24 invitees to WCS Europe 2013 Season 1 Premier League. He was able to advance past the online Round of 32 group stage with wins over monchi and Dayshi, but he lost to LucifroN and SaSe in the live Round of 16, which dropped him to Challenger League. He fell to Grubby in the bracket stage and only defeated teammate DarkHydra in the group stage, which left him in Challenger League for Season 2.
In WCS Europe 2013 Season 2 Challenger League, Nerchio defeated ThorZaIN in the bracket stage but lost to sLivko. He was able to qualify for Season 3's Premier League by defeating SortOf in the group stage after getting a walkover past the retired Stephano.
- He played Brood War for 10 years, mostly offline. He also competed on iCCup for three seasons, and reached C+ rank.
- He was banned by ESL from 2010-12-01 to 2011-03-01, because he played with a friend's account during a Polish local cup.
- Is known for being outspoken in his opinions about the game in general, and balance in particular.
- Used to play 2v2 competitively with Osho, using his past skill as Random to race-pick according to opponents and maps.
- Turned down a Code S seed to focus on local tournaments.
