Kim "Mentalist" Chung-in (born February 12, 1990) is a retired Korean Protoss player who last played for ZeNEX.

He was also known as "Mental".

He went on military service and retired from professional StarCraft II on July 3, 2012.

Biography[edit]

Mentalist was born in Ulsan, South Korea in February 1990. He currently lives in Incheon, South Korea. After being forced to drop his college classes for lack of funding, he pursued mastery of StarCraft II.

His StarCraft experience started with StarCraft: Brood War until January, 2011. He was at a gaming house as an amateur and practiced there. He worked a regular job on the side until he heard StarCraft II was released. Mentalist always had a dream of being a pro gamer. With that dream, he played StarCraft II as if it was his job, and practiced until he was acquired by ProS Clan.

He has played for the team Infinity Seven since mid-2011, and continues to compete in online tournaments such as Playhem Open $100 tournaments. In January 2012 it was announced that Mentalist would play for the South Korean Team Rising Star in Korean events, but continue to represent Infinity Seven in international events.[1]

Mentalist has left Infinity Seven at the end of March 2012 and joined ZeNEX.[Citation needed] He made his debut for ZeNEX in the KSL Team League - Season 1 in the match vs Fnatic where he lost to ByuL

On June 7, 2012, Mentalist announced he would fulfill his military service.[2] On July 3, 2012, he retired from progaming to complete his military service.[3]

Wings Of Liberty[edit]

Mentalist made an impressive showing in the FXOpen Korean KOTH Week 15 where he defeated players such as SuperNova, Golden, Jim and asd.

In the 2011 GSL November Preliminaries after defeating Ready and Freaky he lost in the final round to InCa.
