The MaXlan is one of the main offline events held in France. It takes place in the city of Épinal. The 2011 edition featured tournaments for six different titles:

- Counter Strike 1.6
- Team Fortress 2
- Call Of Duty 4
- StarCraft 2
- Trackmania Nations Forever
The StarCraft 2 tournament was the fifth event in the season for the French Master Series 2010/2011. The finals of the Master Series was primarily a qualification for the Electronic Sports World Cup 2011. There was 80 contestants, including some famous foreign players such as Naama and LaLuSh, as well as major French players. There was a group stage, followed by double-elimination playoffs.
During the first round of group stage, the 68 players were placed in 16 groups of 5 players (most groups were not filled and thus had only 4 participants), and played best of three matches. The top two players advanced to the playoffs. The playoffs were double-elimination, played in best of three up to and including the finals.
