Jung "jjakji" Ji Hoon is a Terran player from South Korea, currently playing for Team RevolutioN.

Biography[edit]

Wings of Liberty[edit]

jjakji managed to qualify for 2010 Sony Ericsson Starcraft II Open Season 2 where he lost to Zenio in the Ro64. He was unable to qualify for GSL again and went unseen for around 6 months before he made an appearance in 2011 Global StarCraft II Team League Season 1. In decisive fashion, jjakji all-killed FXOpen e-Sports.

He qualified for 2011 Global StarCraft II League August, defeating Junwi in his final preliminary match. He then went on an impressive winning streak beating two promising Zergs, Luvsic and Lucky, without dropping a set. His first run through Code A would finally end in the Round of 8, losing a close 1-2 to MarineKing. In the Up and Down Matches, jjakji tied with Check and LosirA for first in the group with a score of 3-1. After two playoff rounds, jjakji and LosirA emerged the victors of the two Code S spots.

Code S[edit]

jjakji debuted in Code S in GSL October, in which he managed to place third in his group, failing to advance, but keeping his Code S spot for the next season.

During the 2011 GSL November, jjakji was defeated by Killer then won against SuperNova and Virus in the Round of 32. With the score of 2-1, he would advance into the Round of 16 for Code S.In the round of 16 he would be placed in the same group as Mvp and GuMiho after the fourth player in the group CoCa withdrew from Code S following his involvement in a match fixing scandal. He would lose to Mvp but defeat GuMiho to secure second place in his group yet again to qualify for the round of 8. After showing strong TvP in his Ro8 and semifinal games against Puzzle and Oz winning 3-0 and 3-2 respectively, he defeated Leenock 4-2 in his first GSL finals.

In the 2012 GSL Season 1 Code S jjakji lost to GanZi but defeated Sen and BoxeR to enter the Round of 16. In that round he was grouped with PartinG, MC, and, once again, GanZi. After losing to PartinG, jjakji was able to beat GanZi this time around, but only to be faced up against PartinG once more. Unable to beat PartinG, jjakji fell down to Code A where he faced Virus.

In the second Code S Season of 2012, he would defeat TaeJa, but then lose to TheStC. In the final match, this time he would lose to TaeJa. He placed 3rd in the group, falling down to Code A with the previous champion DongRaeGu.

Code A[edit]

After getting back to Code A in 2012 GSL Season 1, jjakji was able to quickly qualify back to Code S after defeating Virus 2-0.

ESV TV Korean Weekly[edit]

On July 27, 2011, jjakji participated in the ESV TV Korean Weekly Season 1 Weekly 6. After taking down TanDongHo, Seal, TheBest, and Puzzle to advance in to the finals to face Life. He was not able to advance any further and lost to Life by a score of 3-4 and ended up taking second place.

From July 19 to July 21, 2011, jjakji participated in the ESV TV Korean Weekly Season 1 Finals 1. To start off the tournament jjakji was placed in Group D. After advancing through his group with a score of 2-1, jjakji advanced in to the playoffs. In the playoffs, jjakji took down cOre and Curious in order to advance in to the finals to face YongHwa. After defeating YongHwa by a score of 4-1, jjakji grabbed first place.

On January 18, 2012, jjakji participated in the ESV TV Korean Weekly Season 2 Weekly 1. After taking down Avenge, VINES, AcE, and jookTo, jjakji went on to face TheStC. He was not able to advance any further after he lost to TheStC by a score of 2-3 and ended up taking third place.

From February 13 to February 16, 2012, jjakji participated in the ESV TV Korean Weekly Season 2 Grand Prix #1. To start off the tournament, jjakji avoided the group stages and was placed straight in to Group B. After advancing through his group with a score of 4-0, jjakji advanced in to the playoffs. In the playoffs, jjakji defeated Sting and Tiger and advanced in to the finals to face TaeJa. He was not able to grab first place after losing to TaeJa by a score of 0-4 and had to settle for second place.

Korean StarCraft II League[edit]

On December 7, 2011, jjakji participated in the KSL Daily Week 2 Day 3. jjakji started off from the quarterfinals. jjakji took down cOre and Vampire in order to advance to the finals. In the finals, jjakji defeated Oz by a score of 2-0 and grabbed first place.

Outside Korea[edit]

He also competed in the IPL Tournament of Champions, defeating Kas, Polt, ThorZaIN, and Creator in order to secure first place, along with $5,000 dollars.

IPL Fight Club[edit]

On January 28, 2012, jjakji was invited to participate in the IPL Fight Club. His first opponent was Nerchio. jjakji defeated Nerchio by a score of 5-4 and took his rightful seat at top of the throne.

On February 4, 2012, jjakji faced his next opponent for the IPL Fight Club, HerO. He lost to HerO by a score of 3-5 and allowed HerO to overthrow him.

Heart of the Swarm[edit]

As his first major Heart of the Swarm tournament, jjakji participated in the 2013 MLG Winter Championship. In the Showdowns before the main tournament, he was matched up against DongRaeGu. Although DongRaeGu at one point was up 2-1, jjakji was able to take a close 3-2 victory to qualify for the Main Event. There he would take a 3-0 victory over MarineKing in the first round, and then fall in a close 3-2 to Rain and get knocked out of the tournament.

Although he did not participate in any other major individual tournaments for a long duration, jjakji was an anchor for NS HoSeo during the 2013 GSTL Season 1. Often acting as the ace for his team he scored wins over MarineKing, Creator, and MMA among others. He ended the season 5-5 with the most wins on his team. He has also participated in online cups such as the ZOTAC NA Cups, with results including a second place finish in cup #95, losing only in the final round to Polt.

On June 26, 2013, jjakji entered the WCS Korea Season 2 Qualifiers. He was placed in Group A of the afternoon session, and, after receiving a BYE in the first round, he was able to beat Artist, Miso, and AnNyeong to qualify for Challenger League. In Challenger League jjakji played Trust a CJ Entus trainee, whom he managed to defeat 2-1 and advance to the next round. In the Round of 32 he played Life, who had been struggling to produce results in the Korean leagues. However, Life still easily defeated jjakji with a 2-0 score. jjakji managed to qualify for Premier League regardless, after defeating KangHo, EffOrt, and Shine in his Up and Down Group.

On July 31, 2013, it was announced that NS HoSeo had disbanded, but that jjakji had already found another team to join.[1] On August 1, it was announced that jjakji had joined mYinsanity.[2] mYinsanity also announced that jjakji would move to the teamhouse in Bern, Switzerland and participate in WCS Europe in 2014, after finishing 2013 in WCS Korea.

jjakji played in the Round of 32 of WCS Korea 2013 Season 3 on September 5, 2013. Although he lost 0-2 to Flash in the winner's match, he defeated the PvT specialist First twice, 2-1 and 2-0, to advance to the Round of 16.

On May 4, 2015, jjakji left mYinsanity and joined the newly renamed SBENU, formerly Startale[3]

Legacy of the Void[edit]

On December 1, 2015, it was announced that KT Rolster and SBENU exchanged the players jjakji and Super.
