Overview[edit]

Jin Air Green Wings is the StarCraft II team of South Korean airline Jin Air, which flies domestically within South Korea and also to China, Japan, Guam and Southeast Asia. Formerly known as the 8th Team, it is one of the seven KeSPA-recognized teams participating in Proleague and also has a League of Legends team.

History[edit]

As Jin Air Green Wings [edit]

  • March 11, CoCa leaves the team and retires.[8]
  • April 4, Avenge comes out of retirement and joins Jin Air.[9]
  • April 10, Pigbaby leaves the team.[10]
  • April 10, Adios joins.[11]
  • August 25, TRUE does not renew his contract with the team.[12]
  • September 17, Trap joins.[13]
  • November 28, Symbol joins. [14]
  • December 1, Pigbaby rejoins.[15]
  • July 10, Jin Air becomes the team's title sponsor, changing its name to Jin Air Green Wings.[16]
  • August 17, Argo was announced as having retired from pro gaming. [17]
  • August 18, Check (aka ALBM) joins Western Wolves.[18]
  • August 23, Pure joins Jin Air's roster.[19]
  • September 1, Neige is announced to be on AZUBU's GSTL roster.[20]
  • September 16, TY leaves the team after going into free agent status and joins KT Rolster. [21]
  • December 12 - Jin Air signs Maru from Prime and sOs from Woongjin Stars.[22]

As 8th Team [edit]

  • January 2, MajOr joins 8th Team.[23]
  • June 17, MajOr announces he will be leaving 8th Team. MajOr played his last Proleague match on June 23 against Flash. [24]
  • July 9, CoCa joins.[25]

8th Team was formed after the disbanding of three previous Brood War teams: MBCGame HERO, WeMade FOX and Hwaseung Oz.

Trivia[edit]

  • Lost without winning a single game on their SC2 debut against SK Telecom T1.
  • Members of the team, most notably sOs (on the tail fin) are featured on one of Jin Air's jets - specifically, a Boeing 737-800 that flies between Gimpo and Jeju.[33][34][35]
