About[edit]

This tournament is the first iteration in the IGN Pro Team League (IPTL) series held by IGN. The IPTL consists of 3 divisions will be cast by IGN's in-house casting team.

The first map will be on a set rotation, and then it is loser's pick.

Information[edit]

Premier Division[edit]

This is the IPTL's main tournament, where the top 8 teams from around the world will compete for a big prize money (prize pool still TBA). See the Premier Division for more details.

  • Round of 8:
  • Two 4 player groups, Round Robin, Matches are in an All-Kill format.
  • 1st and 2nd places in each group will advance to the Ro4
  • 3rd and 4th place in each group will drop into the Up and Down Matches
  • Head to head is the primary tiebreaker.
  • Round of 4:
  • Single-elimination tournament for the IPTL's championship
  • All 4 Teams who make it to this round are seeded in next season Premier Division's Tournament

Contender Division[edit]

Simultaneous "tournament" going on with Premier Division. These 8 Teams are looking to get into the Premier Division for the following Season. Only the Top 4 teams will receive prize money (Prize pool still TBA).

  • Round of 8:
  • Two 4 player groups, Round Robin, Matches are in an All-Kill format.
  • 1st and 2nd places in each group will advance into the Up and Down Matches.
  • 3rd and 4th places in each group will be demoted out of the Contender Division and be seeded into the Amateur Division.
  • Head to head is the primary tiebreaker.

Up & Down Matches[edit]

  • The losers from the Premier Division and the Winners from the Contender Division will participate. The Top 4 will qualify for the Premier Division and the Bottom 4 will be placed into the Contender Division.

Amateur Division[edit]

This is the rest of the field. The 4 teams dropping down from the Contender Division will be seeded into a massive open bracket that will contain all other interested teams. The top 4 teams will enter the Contender Division in the next season.

  • Open Bracket, Single Elimination, All-Kill Format for Matches
  • Top 4 advance to the contender division for next season.
  • NOTE: There is no challenge match between the Contender Division and Amateur Division. The teams finishing 3rd and 4th in the Contender Division must re-qualify through the Amateur Division.[1] There is no information available right now on how the teams demoted from the Contender Division will be seeded.[2]
