Chronology

The seventh season of the Intel Extreme Masters, the global league of the video game champions, was scheduled to return to Guangzhou, China for the second event in Season VII.

On September 18, 2012, due to the recent conflict between Japan and China over the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou ACG Expo, which provides venue for the IEM event, was cancelled. With no venue and backup plan, IEM Global Challenge Guangzhou is cancelled as well.[1][2]
