The Gfinity G3 is a multi-platform eSports event organized by Gfinity, a UK based company created to help push eSports within the UK to a professional level. It will take place on August 2-3rd in the Copperbox Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. The event features tournaments in Call of Duty: Ghosts, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II and FIFA 14 for a total prize-pool of $145,000. The StarCraft II tournament features 12 players competing for a $30,000 prize pool.

StarCraft II Tournament[edit]
The Gfinity G3 StarCraft II tournament features 12 players competing for a $30,000 prize pool. It was recognized by Blizzard as a WCS Tier 2 event and will distribute 3,375 WCS Points. The tournament is casted by Thomas "Khaldor" Kilian, Yoan "ToD" Merlo, Chris "Tetcher" Ivermee, John "JoRoSaR" Sargent and Robert "Pughy" Pugh with James Banks as the host. Games analysis are done by Samayan "BlinG" Kay and Kevin "Harstem" de Koning, and games observing done by Alexandre "FunKaDeLiC" Verrier.
Format[edit]
- Group stage:
- Four groups of three players each in a round-robin format.
- Top 2 players advance to the playoffs.
- Playoffs:
- Eight players in a single-elimination bracket.
- Quarterfinals are best of three.
- Semifinals are best of five.
- Finals are best of seven.

$30,000 USD and 3,375 WCS Points are spread among the players as seen below:
* Players must advance one round in order to claim WCS points for that placement. Being seeded through qualifiers counts as advancing one round.[1]
