[edit] Biography
Fenix is a former Brood War pro from Peru. Fenix was known for his cheesy play and for getting second in the BW Valor tournament.[1] To join Fnatic he won the Fnatic Rookie Draft, a Brood War tournament to try and pick a solid team for StarCraft II's release. On August 23, 2011 Fenix parted ways with Fnatic after an 1.5 year term with the team.[2] He joined the South Korean team Incredible Miracle on September 1, 2011.[3]
[edit] In Beta
Fenix played during beta, but did not score any notable results.
[edit] Wings of Liberty
Fenix continued to actively play after launch scoring victories in small tournaments and weeklies such as the Open Wolf Cup competition (taking OWC7 and OWC10). His first major achievement was to come 2nd in the IEM US Regular Season Cup #2 after losing to Drewbie. This gave him a spot in the IEM Group Stages where he would qualify for the IEM Season V - American Championships. It was during this tournament where Fenix would go undefeated in series (5-0) and eventually take 1st place over qxc. Along with the $4000 prize, the title granted Fenix entry into the IEM Season V - World Championship as a North American representative with qxc. Both players would be soundly defeated without taking a single series from any other player.
Since 2011, Fenix has yet to post any significant victories. He qualified for TSL3 through point accumulation, but would be knocked out in the first round by his teammate, Sen. Fenix would be one of the 50 players invited to participate in the North American Starleague. He would go 6-3 in his division, allowing him to qualify for the playoffs where he would be ousted by HasuObs.
[edit] World Championship Series
[edit] 2012 WCS Peru Nationals
On April 13, 2012, Fenix participated in the Peruvian WCS Qualifier taking first place, therefore qualifying for the South American Finals.
On April 15, 2012, Fenix participated in the World Championship Series 2012 Peru and ended up in 1st place after overcoming Vindicado, FuNcKy, Ang.Odin, XionS and then XionS again in the finals with a score of 2-0.
[edit] 2012 WCS South America Finals
Having qualified for the South America Finals, Fenix would ultimately place second. A dominant run through the winners bracket was stopped with a 2:0 loss to KiLLeR. Defeating Levin in the losers bracket, Fenix would face KiLLeR again in the finals, once more losing 2:0. Due to coming second however he would qualify for the World Championship Finals.
[edit] 2012 World Championship Finals
In the group stages of the World Championship Finals Fenix would be placed with PartinG, Illusion and Socke. First losing to Illusion, he would go on to defeat Socke before facing Illusion once more, losing 2:0 and being knocked out of the tournament.
[edit] Korea
It was announced on June 22, 2011 that Fenix would be heading over to Korea due to his achievement in MLG Columbus 2011, and will participate in the GSTL with F.United.[4] He would make his first debut in the GSL August Code A. He lost during the opening round in a pair of surprisingly fast sets against the previous season Code A runner up, Tassadar. After losing his first GSTL game Fenix finally showed results in Korea taking games off Heart and Clide in the GSTL match against TSL. In the GSTL match against OGS-TL, Fenix managed to secure the win for his team F.United by beating Luvsic, TheStC and MC. Immediately after this match it was announced that Fenix had been recruited by Incredible Miracle having practiced in the IM house prior to his recent GSTL showing.
