Overview[edit]

BrightSide is the Community Outreach Manager for the GoSc, and can often be found alongside her partners Livinpink and LittleAtari, at live events shooting photos, and conducting video interviews with players, personalities, and fans, to share with the eSports community. She also acts as Press and Accommodations Coordinator for GoSC amongst other groups.

Biography[edit]

Brandi BrightSide Payne is a public personality in the StarCraft community, and Community Outreach Manager for the GoSc. Brandi attended college for Commercial Art and Graphic Design in Clearwater, FL, and works as a freelance graphic artist, photographer, and writer. As a very small child, she began playing video games, starting with an arcade version of Mario Brothers from a 5.25” floppy disk on an old Apple computer, complete with a joystick. She grew up playing and watching gameplay from Super Mario Brothers and every iteration thereof, Mortal Kombat, Zelda, Tetris, Sonic, GTA, Halo, MarioKart, to WoW, Diablo, and of course StarCraft, as well as learning about the League of Legends community (and that’s only a few of the more popular ones). She’s surrounded herself with gamers, of some sort or another, for the entirety of her life. Brandi currently resides in the Metro Los Angeles area.

Wings of Liberty[edit]

BrightSide started playing StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty under a few different aliases about two months after it was officially released, and played custom and team games to learn. After much experimentation with Protoss, she decided to switch, and found a love for Zerg, which she plays almost exclusively when on the ladder. She got involved in building the female SC2community when she realized that she could not easily find other female players with whom to relate. She found and joined GoSc, which at that time, was a tiny Facebook group founded by Lori “Tesla” Slaughter, and known as “Girls of Starcraft”. She soon became an active member of that group, eventually became an administrator, created and developed an internet presence, and is now becoming a regular attendee, GoSC Representative, and Press and Accommodations Coordinator for the GoSC community for live events such as MLG, RedBull Gaming Events, IGN ProLeague, North American Star League Finals, Playhem Daily online tournaments, PAX, DreamHack, and any other event she can get her hands on. One of her biggest joys is bringing people and communities together.
