About

The Battle in Berlin is an offline tournament organized by the German organization "Berlin Esports e.V." and took place in Berlin's Universal Hall on November 12th, 2011. 8 players competed for a 10 000 USD prize pool in a one day event. The games were cast by the German caster Special Endrey and by the players attending as co-casters.

Format

  • 2 Online Qualifiers
    • Winner qualifies to playoffs
  • Playoff
    • 6 invited players and 2 qualified players placed in a Single-elimination bracket
      • Quarter Finals: Bo3
      • Semi Finals & Bronze Match: Bo3.
      • Finals: Bo5

The Semi Finals & Finals were originally set to be a Bo5 and Bo7 respectively, however due to time constraints they were scaled down. The Bronze Match was postponed to be played online on a later date.
