Kim "Aphrodite" Ga Young is a Terran player from South Korea who previously played for MVP. She is best known for her participation in the female-only tournament Zowie Divina.

Wings of Liberty
Aphrodite became initially known as a guest streamer on RainBOw's stream. Her first appearance in a notable event occurred in November 2011, when she competed in Zowie Divina, a female-only invitational tournament held in China with a $10,000 prize pool. She attended this event with her team mate RainBOw and StarTale's coach.
Despite losing her two first matches in the group stage, she eventually made it to the playoffs after tie-breakers against SsQ and DaSakura, and faced ColaGirl in the semifinals. Though considered the underdog, she eventually won 2-1 and proceeded to the finals against flo. She flawlessly defeated her, therefore earning the $5,000 winner prize.
She joined the team StarTale on November 13, 2011, hence becoming the second female to join a South Korean pro-gaming team after Eve had joined SlayerS earlier in the year.[1]
In January 2012, Aphrodite unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for 2012 GSL Season 1 Code A, citing her nervousness as the reason why she wasn't able to play at her best.[2] A few days later, she competed in a female-only online tournament, the NESL Iron Lady Champion Cup #6, which she eventually won.
Aphrodite participated in the WCS Korea Preliminaries. She was eliminated by Stork in the second round.
Heart of the Swarm
Aphrodite made history in Heart of the Swarm when she faced Eve in the opening set of the StarTale-AZUBU match in the 2013 GSTL Preseason - which marked the very first all-female StarCraft II match on GOMTV. She had the added honor of winning the set.
Aphrodite won the IeSF 2013 World Championship Korean Qualifier on August 3, 2013, after defeating Barbie 3-0 in the finals. At the main tournament on November 1, 2013, she advanced first from her group after defeating kaitlyn and jasJutsu 2-0 each. After defeating the South African Protoss Ananke, Aphrodite lost to the French Zerg Akane 1-2 in the semifinals. In a rematch against kaitlyn in the third place match, she lost 2-3 after having her mech style thwarted by fast spire builds from her Canadian opponent.
Aphrodite left StarTale on September 18, 2014.[3] She joined MVP on November 7, 2014.[4]

- She is ranked in South Korean Grandmaster League.[5]
- Is one of only three female players to win a StarCraft match on Korean TV, with the others being ToSsGirL in Brood War and Scarlett in the 2013 GSTL Season 1 against Mvp.
- Was one of StarTale's spotlighted players when Khaldor toured their team house.[6]
- Is an avid swimmer.[7]
- Appeared in a commercial for the MSI GS70 Stealth laptop that included her playing TvP.[8]
