Overview[edit]

This build delays Vespene Gas (and more tech) in order to get fast Marines without delaying the Orbital Command. As making the Orbital Command stops SCV production this build allows you to build your second Supply Depot after the second Barracks. 2 Rax Orbital is a popular opening in 2v2 (3v3, 4v4) matches and builds that revolve heavily around infantry groups.

  • When opting to wall-in, this build is really safe versus any aggression and allows a fairly late scout. You can opt to wall-in using both Barracks, but it will require one of them to be lifted before you leave your base as well as, depending on map and position, mess with your add-ons.
  • Once you have 4 or 5 Marines, poke up their ramp. Most times they will have 1 Marine/Zealot/Queen and you can do some early damage this way


Adaptation[edit]

After the Orbital finishes, basic progressions are adding more Barracks, taking the Gas for higher tech, or, if you feel safe, expanding.
