The 2017 DreamHack Season is a series of four StarCraft II tournaments organized by DreamHack and ESL that together constitute the 2017 WCS Circuit.
The total prizepool is $400,000.

The DreamHack 2017 series was announced on January 13, 2017.[1]

Format[edit]

The format of each event is 3 Dual-tournament Bo3 Group Stages and a 16 players single-elimination bracket Playoffs.

First Group Stage:

  • 64 players in 16 groups of 4 players each, played in a dual tournament format.
  • Matches are Bo3.
  • Top 2 players of each group advance to the next stage.

First Group Stage:

  • 32 players in 8 groups of 4 players each, played in a dual tournament format.
  • Matches are Bo3.
  • Top 2 players of each group advance to the next stage.

Third Group Stage:

  • 32 players in 8 groups of 4 players each, played in a dual tournament format.
    • 16 players from the First Group Stage.
    • 16 players from WCS Challenger (Qualifiers).
  • Matches are Bo3.
  • Top 2 players of each group advance to the playoffs.

Playoffs:

  • 16 players in a single-elimination bracket.
  • Round 16, Round of 8 and Semifinals are played in Bo5.
  • Finals are played in Bo7.
