About[edit]

This event is the first of the 2014 Red Bull Series and is held in the Red Bull studios of Santa Monica in California. Six players coming from North America, and qualified through three online qualifiers, compete for an invitation to Red Bull Battle Grounds: Washington.[1] The event is casted by Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi, Yoan "ToD" Merlo and Sean "Day[9]" Plott. On the second day, they were joined by Nathan "Nathanias" Fabrikant who came back from DreamHack Open: Summer.

Format[edit]

  • Qualifiers:
    • Three qualifiers:
      • Qualifier #1 on June 1st – 11 a.m. PT
      • Qualifier #2 on June 5th – 11 a.m. PT
      • Qualifier #3 on June 9th – 11 a.m. PT
    • Single-elimination bracket
    • Matches are best of three
  • Finals:[2]
    • Six players who each start with three lives.
    • In the order of their seeding, each player can chose in which order they will challenge another one in a best of three match.
    • The loser of the match loses a life.
    • When a player has lost their three lives, they are out of the tournament.
    • At the end of each day, $3,000 are shared between the players who are still alive.
