The 2014 MLG Anaheim, held June 20-22, is the first championship event for the 2014 Season. The event is casted by Sean “Day9″ Plott, Kevin “RotterdaM” van der Kooi, Yoan “ToD” Merlo, Paulo “CatZ” Vizcarra, Nathan “Nathanias” Fabrikant and Alex “Axeltoss” Rodriguez.

Format[edit]

Three stages where all matches are best of three:

  • Open Bracket:
    • An open double-elimination bracket up to 256 players.
    • Top 4 from the winners bracket advance to the Pool Play.
    • Top 4 from the losers bracket advance to the Championship Losers' Bracket.
  • Pool Play:
    • Two groups of 8 players each with a round-robin format.
    • Top 2 of each group advance to the Championship Winners' Bracket.
    • Bottom 6 of each group are seeded through the Championship Losers' Bracket.
  • Championship Bracket:
    • 20 players in a double-elimination bracket.
