Note: GOM shows the names “Terminus RE” and “Tal'Darim Altar” in their broadcasts, while the newer versions Terminus SE and Tal'Darim Altar LE are played.

Code S[edit]

  • Main Tournament.
  • 32 Players compete for the Championship.
  • 8 Players will lose Code status and enter the Up & Down Matches, where they might reclaim it.
  • Code Casters:

Code A[edit]

  • Secondary Tournament.
  • 32 Players, 16 from the previous GSL, 12 new qualifiers and 4 foreigner seeds.
  • Losers in the first Round will lose their Code status.
  • The Winner of this tournament will receive Code status for the next GSL.
  • Players who reach the Round of 8 (except for Code winner) will enter the Up & Down Matches.

Up & Down Matches[edit]

  • 8 Code Players and 7 Code Players.
  • These 15 Players will be divided into 3 groups of 5.
  • 6 Players, first and second place from each group, will receive Code status.

Trivia[edit]

  • Curious, the Code A champion, managed to win without dropping a single game. He would be the first player to achieve this in Code A.
  • The Code S final, held at BlizzCon, was the first GSL finals to be held outside of Korea.[3] Gom later released a mini-documentary entitled GSL: To The Next Level, Start (free to view and in Korean with some English subtitles) focusing on Mvp, MMA and their experiences at BlizzCon 2011. The documentary also featured Artosis, Tasteless, NesTea, Ryung, DongRaeGu and more.
