[edit] Map Pool
This season introduced two new maps: Blizzard’s Antiga Shipyard, and Winpark’s Daybreak; these replaced Xel'Naga Caverns and Crevasse.[1]
Note: GOM showed the names “Terminus RE” and “Tal'Darim Altar” in their broadcasts, while the newer versions Terminus SE and Tal'Darim Altar LE are played.

[edit] Trivia
- As such, this GSL also marked the GSL with the most non-Korean players, with 6 total, 5 being in Code A. Unfortunately, none of the 5 in Code A could make it past the Round of 32.
- 50% of the players of this GSL were Terran as there were 32 of them in the 64 players of both Code A and Code S.
- This was the first GSL where there was a tie in the Up and Down Matches. This was followed by another tie in the first round of playoffs before an outcome was decided.
