[edit] Biography

Yellow[ArnC] made his first televised appearance on KOR (now known as HITE sparkyz) in August 2004. He quickly became known for having excellent ZvT. His game against Iloveoov in the 2006 Shinhan OSL put him on the map as a top ZvT player. Yellow[ArnC] reached the Ro8 of the 2006 Shinhan OSL, but lost to JJu. Afterward Yellow[ArnC] had trouble in the individual leagues, never reaching that far in a tournament again until the ClubDay MSL, where he lost 0-3 to JangBi. Yellow[ArnC] continued to be a top player on the Sparkyz team, and he was a premiere 2v2 player on the team at the time. When 2v2 was removed from Proleague in the SPL 08-09 season, Yellow[ArnC] became the top Zerg player on his team, especially after his twin brother Luxury transferred to KTF.

In the summer of 2009, Yellow[ArnC] reached a new height in his career. Along with teammates go.go, Leta, and Horang2, Yellow[ArnC] helped his team reach the playoffs of the SPL 08-09 season. In the first round Yellow[ArnC] lead his team to a final deciding ace match against CJ Entus, where he was chosen as the ace to play against EffOrt. Although Yellow[ArnC] defeated EffOrt the day before on the same map, after a very close and tension-filled game, EffOrt came out with the win. Later that summer, Yellow[ArnC] reached the finals of the 2009 Bacchus OSL, after coming out of the Ro16's group of death where he defeated flash and Jaedong to advance. In the Ro8, four players from Yellow[ArnC]'s team hite SPARKYZ reached were in the same side of the brackets, guaranteeing a SPARKYZ player in the finals. Yellow[ArnC] defeated go.go and type-b to reach the finals, but ultimately lost 0-3 to Jaedong in the final.

Yarnc did not regain his form in time for the first round of the 09-10 Proleague season, finishing with a disappointing 2-3 record with no ace appearances. After failing to qualify for the 2009 Nate MSL, he focused on his 2009 EVER OSL seed into the round of 16. He found himself in a group with ZerO, Pure and Hwasin, leaving him to prepare for all 3 ZvX matchups. Yarnc started his OSL campaign with a victory over Pure and a loss to ZerO. Hwasin lost to Zero and Pure, leaving the Wemade Protoss and Woongjin Zerg sharing a 2-1 record. Yarnc would have to defeat Hwasin in his final match to force a tiebreaker and keep his hopes of qualifying alive. On the final day of the Round of 16, Hwasin's sloppy play on Fighting Spirit allowed Yellow to easily overcome the terran and force a tiebreaker with Pure and ZerO. During the tiebreakers, Pure defeated Yarnc in the first match before losing to Zero in the second. Zero then defeated Yarnc; causing Zero to qualify 2-0, Pure to qualify 1-1 and leaving Yarnc knocked out of the OSL.

In 2010, it was discovered that he was involved with the Match Fixing Scandal, and Yarnc was permanently banned from progaming by KeSPA.

[edit] Facts

  • His twin brother, Luxury, was in progaming as well. The brothers have met four times and Luxury was leading 3-1. Luxury was also banned for the Match Fixing Scandal.
  • He is the most well-known Zerg with the odd trait of having his worst matchup be ZvP and best matchup be ZvT.
  • In the 2009 Bacchus OSL, Yellow and three of his teammates from HITE made up one entire half of the Ro8 bracket, ensuring a HITE player in the final. He overcame go.go 2-1 and type-b 3-0 to reach the finals, but lost to Jaedong there 0-3.

[edit] Rivalries

[edit] KHAN Protoss

This is less a rivalry but rather a weakness: Yellow appears to be unable to win against the top two Protoss on the Samsung KHAN team, Stork and Jangbi. He is 0-9 vs. Stork and 5-10 vs. Jangbi. Recently he has shown improvement, both against Protoss and against Jangbi, beating Jangbi four times in a row, including WCG Korea 2009.
