Kim "PerfectMan" Tae Gyoon is a former StarCraft progamer from South Korea who played Protoss for Hwaseung OZ. He currently plays in amateur leagues.
Biography[edit]
KESPA Era[edit]
Perfectman played his first professional game in April of 2008 in the GOMTV Classic season 1, and later successfully competed for Hwaseung OZ in proleague, winning his first appearance against Iris but failing to have a consistent winning ratio (as of August 2012 he holds a professional record of 36.05 % with 31 wins and 55 losses).
Perfectman has competed in a number of individual tournaments, including the GOMTV Classic seasons 1-3, 2010 Korean Air OSL (eliminated 0-2 against zerO in the Ro36) and the 2011 PDPop MSL(eliminated in the Ro32).
Following the disbandment of Hwaseung OZ, Perfectman joined KT Rolster on January 12, 2012.
Post KESPA Era[edit]
Perfectman retired seven months after joining KT Rolster since he did not want to transition to StarCraft II. However, there was no official retirement information released and it was speculated he retired from KT once he was spotted streaming on Afreeca[1].
Having retired from professional BW, Perfectman started to play in amateur leagues. In the 7th SonicTV Starleague Round of 32, he made it out of a tough group that included Killer, Beast and Asaisin but lost in the Ro16 to runner-up Larva in a tense Best of Five series with a 2-3 score. He also competed in other SOSPA related events such as 8th SOSPA Ranking Tournament, 9th SOSPA Ranking Tournament, 11th SOSPA Ranking Tournament and 15th SOSPA Ranking Tournament. In all of them except the 9th SOSPA Ranking Tournament, he failed to make it past the early stages of the tournament often losing in the Ro16 (earlier tournaments) or Ro32 (later ones). In the 9th SOSPA Ranking Tournament, he managed to make it out of the Ro16 only to eliminated by Killer in the Ro8 by a score of 1-3.
In the Gabangpop Proleague Perfectman was part of ex-KT Rolster. He played a major role in his team's 5-4 victory in the finals against ex-SK Telecom T1. The Protoss replaced Eagle and won twice against Midas and Pure. However, his streak ended when he faced sSak in a longer game featuring hallucinated Arbiters.
