On July 1st, 2012, the third season of the Gambit Cup event was announced[1]. Starting on August 4th, teams that have signed up will compete with one another in two Rounds. In Round 1 the teams will face off in Best-of-7s winner's league format. After seven weeks, the top three team advance to a play-off bracket after which a Round 1 winner will be crowned.
Round 2 will see all teams facing off again, this time in a regular Clan War fashion, with each team sending a player to a predetermined map.
To sign up, each team is required to add $50 to the prizepool. Sponsors Minus)Eagle and Prowler contributed another $100, making the prizepool a total $500.
On July 23rd, the teams and the playing schedule were announced[2].
Round 2 was announced on February 25, 2013 with several major changes including new league management, new teams, and an increased prize pool of $1700.[3][4]
Although final prize pool was even $1850 with winner team earning $1525 and runner-up team $325.
