Introduction[edit]

The 2006 SKY Proleague Round 1 takes place between April 29th and July 29th, 2006. It is the second Proleague jointly broadcasted by OnGameNet and MBC and is sponsored by SKY. Featuring all Pro Teams of Korea, eleven Teams will play a round-robin with the top four finishers advancing to the playoffs to determine the Round 1 Winner. Later on the Round 1 Winner will face off against the Round 2 Winner to determine the Grand Champion of the 2006 Sky Proleague.

Prize Pool[edit]

Round 1 of the 2006 SKY Proleague has an unknown prizepool. It is to be expected to be of around 73,000,000 KRW combined for the top 3 finishers like his predecessor.

Format[edit]

The eleven teams play a round-robin tournament lasting nine weeks with 55 matches total. Each series is a Best of Five, with the order of games being 1v1 - 1v1 - 2v2 - 1v1 - 1v1. At the end of Round 1, the four teams with the most victories advance to the Playoffs. In the Playoffs the four teams will play in a Bracket with their seeding based on their Regular Season Placement. The Winner is the 2006 SKY Proleague Round 1 Champion and advances to the Grand Finals.
