Battle GateWay 17 and the 12th Kanto Tournament (BGW&第12回64スマブラ関東大会) was a joint Melee and 64 tournament held on July 8, 2017.[1][2]

Notably, wario was defeated twice by Kurabba in this tournament - once in pools, and once in bracket.[3] Despite being a favorite to win the tournament, he finished tied for 9th.

Melee players Rudolph and aMSa also participated in this tournament. Rudolph achieved a record of 4-4 in pools, but did not advance.[4] aMSa qualified for the main bracket with a record of 4-3 in pools, but lost in round 1 to tie for 33rd place.[3]
