Damien "kphoenii" Chok is a professional Dota 2 player from Australia currently playing for Newbee.

Biography[edit]

Kpii was born in Australia, but has played for English, Korean and Chinese speaking teams.

Dota 2[edit]

Kphoenii has played for many competitive Dota 2 teams, mainly in the Oceanic scene. His first competitive success was with Can't Say Wips AU in late 2014, where his team placed second in the Defense of the Australians Spring 2014, largely considered to be the biggest ongoing Dota 2 tournament in the Oceanic region.

On Febuary 26 of 2015, Kphoenii found a place in MVP Phoenix, a mostly Korean team. MVP.Phoenix came through the South East Asian qualifiers for The International 2015, placing second and making it into the wildcard qualifiers. They followed by placing second in the wild card qualifiers to make it into the main event, in which the team placed 7-8th. He was the only Australian to to attend The International 2015 and no other Australian had placed higher than him in any other International before.[1]

Starting from August of the same year, he spent a mostly unsuccessful 5 months on EHOME.K, who placed second in the Chinese region of the The Shanghai Major 2016 Open Qualifiers, unable to make it through.

On the 25th of March 2016, Kphoenii entered the roster of previous international champions Newbee. After a clean streak through The Manila Major 2016 Chinese Qualifiers, Newbee, with Kpii on position three offlane, pushed to third place where they were eliminated. In July 2016, he won the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships Season 2 and came second in DPL Season 1.
