Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

2012-0?-?? – 2012-0?-??
2012-08-10 – Present

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund (born May 29, 1990) has, since the start of his professional career, been one of the highest rated players in almost all tournaments that he attended. GeT_RiGhT combines incredible aim with flawless in-game IQ. His play style often prevents opposing teams from executing strategies the way they want, giving his team the advantage. He currently plays for Ninjas in Pyjamas as the lurker.

Professional career[edit]

How it all began[edit]

Christopher got into gaming after his big brother Robin. He was exposed to Quake, Doom, AQ2, Quake2. Eventually he was exposed to Counter-Strike which became his big game. Only playing 1.6 and Global Offensive as his competitive game since back in 1999 and he still remains as passionate as when he first started. At an early stage Christopher together with his friend, Olof started a Clanbase-team with focus on 2on2. A more serious 5on5-team was however formed under the name of hippopotamus. With hippopotamus, Christopher played a lot of swedish LAN's, internet cafe tournaments and onlinecups.

2007 came his breakthrough at Rendezvous 24 with the mixteam Gamepassion with adde, THREAT, RaxxE and robin. Gamepassion managed to win Rendezvous 24 and THREAT who at the time played for Begrip Gaming saw the potential in GeT RiGhT and asked if he wanted to try out for Begrip. At the Swedish ESWC qualifier the same year Begrip Gaming did a sensation and beat both Ninjas in Pyjamas and SK Gaming, with them managing to qualify to ESWC 2007. At ESWC, it was not so good for Begrip as the team went out of the group stage and the team disbanded.

The same month Ninjas in Pyjamas got disqualified from the NGL One qualifier when it is found that the Christopher used Jonathan "miniwalle" Wallenberg's nickname against the German team Team ZYKON. Shorty after GeT_RiGhT became an official member in Ninjas in Pyjamas and played together with RobbaN, Tentpole, walle and face.

"He has played so well in the Begrip lately. One could say that he is the new zet, he is a really awesome players who play smart. It was an obvious choice among the players we have in Sweden right now."
Dennis "walle" Wallenberg

NiP didn't perform as they wanted and after an uncertain time in the team walle and Tentpole joined SK Gaming so GeT_RiGhT searched for a new team.

First time in SK[edit]

In 2007 SK Gaming picked up the 17 year old GeT_RiGhT. But the playtime in SK was not at all what he had been hoped for, this led to GeT_RiGhT joining Meet Your Makers on loan. In MYM, Christopher reunited with his former teammate Johan "face" Klasson. During his time in MYM, GeT_RiGhT managed to beat SK Gaming.

In February 2008 GeT_RiGhT re-joined SK Gaming after Meet Your Makers disbanded. In his comeback with SK, GeT_RiGhT was still on the bench and didn't get any playtime with the team. But later that same month Abdisamad "SpawN" Mohamed stepped down from the active lineup and finally GeT_RiGhT got the chance to play in SK Gaming. But it was not for long, two weeks after SpawN re-joined the team and Christopher was back at the bench. According to walle the team chemistry didn't work with GeT_RiGhT because of the age difference. This led to GeT_RiGhT trying to end his contract with SK Gaming. Three weeks later he was released from his contract and started the team Blank. But after three months with Blank he had to leave the team as to the communication wasn't good.

The relaunch[edit]

After his time in Blank, GeT_RiGhT joined the team 0E1F23 together with THREAT, kHRYSTAL, FYRR73 and qp that later would become EvilZone. The team managed to win DreamHack Skellefteå after a victory against Christophers old team SK Gaming in the finals and was on its way to become a top tier team in Sweden. Due to some problems after the victory at DreamHack Skellefteå Evilzone renamed to lanklan. One month after lanklan joined the Spanish organization Giants Gaming. With Giants they manage to qualify to IOL Final Four 2009 but before that Christopher got an offer he couldn't refuse.

The Fnatic era[edit]

The top tier team Fnatic had a lack of motivation and picked up GeT_RiGhT and Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl in 2009, replacing Archi and ins whom both retired after their departures. Fnatic got a dream start with the new team and got a fourth place at IEM III European Championship Finals and managed to win the world finals at Intel Extreme Masters III. Fnatic had an extremely successful first year with the new team and GeT_RiGhT got awarded the eSport Player of the Year at the eSports Awards 2009.

"He can literally win games all by himself"
Patrik "cArn" Sättermon

After two successful years with fnatic, GeT_RiGhT together with Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg parted ways with Fnatic and joined SK Gaming for the remainder of Counter-Strike 1.6.

Greatest moments[edit]

Christopher's first greatest moment in his CS history was winning the IEM III Global Finals 2009. It was his first tournament with Fnatic and they were considered the underdogs the entire time. He said, "After being together as a team for 2-3 months and walking away with $50,000 as the first place prize was an amazing feeling especially since I was only 18". His second greatest moment was being declared the Counter-Strike Player of the Year/eSports Player of the Year award from ESL which till this day he says is a huge honor. His first favorite event however was the e-Stars Seoul events and the ESWC stop back in 2009. "It was more about visiting the country of Korea and the city of Seoul". The second favorite being ESL One Katowice 2014 back in March, "The audience was the best and most intense he has ever seen".
