GX (also known as Hugh Jass Construction[1], Wicked Masterminds, Just for Fun and Clutch Cats[2]) is a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team composed mainly of the former iBUYPOWER players.

GX was founded after the former iBUYPOWER roster decided to part ways with the organisation.[1] After leaving the organisation, they were intended to play at the MLG Aspen Invitational, however pulled out, likely in response to the fact that they were being investigated by Valve.[2] They were intended to play at ClutchCon, however, following the bans, they did not attend. Skadoodle ended up playing for Torqued[3] who were similarly impacted by the match fixing bans.

Following allegations of a match vs Counter Logic Gaming, then NetcodeGuides.com in the CEVO league being fixed by the roster[4], three members of the roster, swag, AZK and DaZeD were banned for an indefinite amount of time from all Valve-sponsored events.[5][6] Following the move by Valve, multiple organisations, including ESEA[7], FACEIT[8] and CEVO[9](where the match-fixing incident occurred) announced that they were going to also ban the three GX players, effectively ruling them out of competitive play indefinitely. The team was widely expected to secure a sponsorship with the eSports organisation Evil Geniuses before the bans were issued.

On September 9th of 2017, DaZeD announced that he would be reuniting with former iBUYPOWER teammates Braxton "swag" Pierce and Kevin "AZK" Lariviere, with Michael "dapr" Gulino, formerly of Denial eSports, and Matt "Pollo" Wilson, who has played for teams like Eanix and RONIN in the past, rounding out the roster. The team will be competing in Season 26 of ESEA MDL.[10]

  • January 5 - iBUYPOWER's team leaves the organization, and they take on the name Hugh Jass Construction. AZK, skadoodle, swag, DaZeD and former stand-in Hiko join.
  • Early January - Hugh Jass Construction rename to GX on ESEA and CEVO.
  • Early January - ex-iBP is mentioned as Wicked Masterminds on MLG X-Games Aspen's website.
  • January 17 - Wicked Masterminds rename to Clutch Cats on the aforementioned page.
  • January 21 - After ex-iBP withdraw from MLG Aspen[11], Hiko announces himself as a free agent.[12]
  • Late January - "GX" rename to Just For Fun on CEVO's website.
  • January 26 - The team disbanded after the majority of the roster were banned for participation in the North American match fixing scandal. [13][14]
